If you’re looking for a tourer with a simple layout, plenty of lounge space and a low towing weight, then you should definitely take a look at the Xplore 434. This good-value caravan is from Xplore, the Explorer Group’s entry level brand, but don’t worry as Practical Caravan point out, the look and feel of this model is anything but budget.
The Xplore 434 is keeping up with the current trend of low cost tourers packed with high levels of kit in a bid to stay competitive with other manufacturers. However, the 434’s interior is very much an old classic, opting for a twin dinette layout.
The main benefit of this is that the Xplore has ample lounging space, making it perfect for families. To emphasise the amazing amount of space on offer, Practical point out that the caravan can just about hold 12 people for some serious campsite socialising. The layout is also ideal for couples who want the practicality of having a double bed made up for most of the time, but the ability of being able to make space for and sleep additional family or friends when needed.
The caravan’s kitchen is well appointed with oven, grill and three burner hob with the option of including a microwave for full functionality. Practical where impressed with the overall amount of worktop space, so cooking for large groups shouldn’t be a problem.
The only area that drew any negative comments from the reviewers was the washroom; it includes all the essential kit and even a proper mixer tap and shower, but overall the facilities in this area are quite basic. As the magazine point out however, this isn’t much of an issue for those that holiday on full-facility sites.
Overall, the magazine where impressed with caravan awarding it 4 out of 5 stars and believe that anyone with a young family should definitely take a closer look at the model. Click here for the full 434 specification and read the full live-in test at the bottom of the page.
