Marquis Leisure is pleased to announce that Alan Buckwell has been appointed as the new Managing Director of AS Group, effective 1 January 2027, following the retirement of Mike Crouch at the end of December 2026.

The appointment marks an important new chapter for the Group, with Alan bringing extensive industry experience and a longstanding association with Marquis Leisure.

A Career Built with Marquis Leisure

Alan joined Marquis Leisure, the retail division of AS Group, in 2001, bringing a strong background in the motor trade.

His experience and leadership saw him appointed Sales Director in 2008, and over the following 18 years, he has played a significant role in the continued development and growth of the company.

During this time, Marquis has strengthened its position as the UK's largest motorhome and caravan dealer network, with Alan helping shape the company's sales and marketing strategies, alongside the development and introduction of new products from Trigano Group brands represented in the UK.

Currently Deputy Managing Director of AS Group, Alan will officially take over from Mike Crouch on 1 January 2027.

Looking Ahead to the Future

Geoff Scott, CEO of AS Group, welcomed the appointment, highlighting Alan's extensive industry knowledge, experience and understanding of both the retail and manufacturing sectors.

Alan's established relationships across the industry and his involvement in the Group's development provide a strong foundation for a smooth leadership transition.

Mike Crouch will retire on 31 December 2026, bringing to a close an extraordinary 48-year career with the business.

Throughout his tenure, Mike has made an invaluable contribution to the development and success of AS Group, helping establish the foundations of the business and guiding its growth over nearly five decades.

His leadership, experience and commitment have left a lasting legacy across Marquis Leisure and the wider Group.

Reflecting on his career, Mike described his time in the motorhome and caravan industry as a privilege and an immensely rewarding experience, expressing his gratitude to colleagues, business associates and friends who have supported him throughout the years.
