General Manager

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to join our team.

The successful applicant will have experience in a motorhome, caravan, car or similar environment. A basic knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office) is essential, full training will be given on our bespoke internal computer system. As General Manager your responsibilities are to ensure the efficient, effective and profitable running of your branch. You will be responsible for the training and development of your staff and to liaison with the Directors and Management of the Marquis Group as the sole supplier of new and used vehicles to your branch. You will need to report/feedback results on sales activities as agreed and outlined in the duties and responsibilities in the Key Objectives below. We are looking for a friendly, confident and capable individual who can deal with all kinds of customers under pressure and remain professional at all times.

 

Key Skill include: Excellent Communication Skills, Flexibility, Excellent Customer Care Skills, Good Managerial and Administration Ability, Coupled with a Full UK Drivers Licence.

Key Objectives:

  • Promotion of the ‘Marquis Centres’ group, its products and services
  • Overseeing all duties of the other team members are carried out in accordance with their Job Descriptions
  • Responsible for the training and development of the other members of your team
  • Completion of all relevant forms and documents as detailed in the Operations Manual
  • Responsible for ensuring there is adequate cover at your branch at all times, and timely completion of the staff rota
  • Ensuring that the Aftersales department is run efficiently and profitably
  • Responsibility for customer care and service at your branch
  • To help ensure that general good ‘Housekeeping’ practices are adhered to by all members of the team
  • The retail and trade selling of Motorhomes, caravans, cars and other ‘vehicles’ or boats as necessary. Including participation in ‘In House’, National and regional shows and exhibitions
  • Finance sales and referrals
  • Extended warranty sales
  • Insurance sales
  • Accessory sales
  • Completion of all the necessary paperwork and input into the company computer system, to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of each sale
  • Generation of workshop, accessory, valeting orders. Building and maintenance of professional relationships with all suppliers and contractors
  • Prospect gathering and generation, contact and follow ups as detailed in the branch Operations Manual
  • Vehicle display, pricing and presentation
  • Following of the companies ‘Customer Care System’, as detailed in the Operations Manual
  • Performing any other ad hock tasks, as required, which will help to contribute to the overall performance of your branch and or Marquis Motorhomes Group

 

Person Specification

  • Languages - must be fluent in English and be able to write competently
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - has the ability to convey information verbally to fellow team members and customers
  • Stability under pressure - reacts well to change and stays positive despite setbacks
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to adapt to the companies needs in the way we deliver our service
  • Reliable and takes pride in the quality of their work

 

Hours of work are full time. Flexibility will be required around busier times of the year.
