Campervan to A Class...

Carole and Paul Ingham have been the very proud owners of several campervans for 10 years, but after visiting the NEC show they were blown away by the Mobilvetta K-Yacht 80 and are very impressed with their brand new A Class motorhome...read their story here!
Story told by Carole Ingham.

We (my husband Paul and I) have been the very proud owners of a campervan for 10 years, initially having a 2 berth Auto-Sleeper Kemerton for 5 years, but sadly it spent most of its time sitting in the drive due to other commitments.

Then Covid came along, and we realised that we could get so much more use out of our van in the UK. We had 2 grandchildren by this time, so decided to swap the Kemerton for an Auto-Sleeper Fairford 4 berth. We then got the camping bug, and loved taking the grandchildren away locally and also venturing further afield, discovering parts of the UK that we had never visited.

One of our highlights was touring the NC500 in Scotland, visiting Orkney and Skye on the way round, which we would definitely recommend.

We then decided to visit the Motorhome exhibition at the NEC Birmingham in February as Paul had been researching the A Class vans.

I was adamant that we were not going to swap our van, until we stepped inside the Mobilvetta K-Yacht 80 and it was one of those wow moments! What a big step forward for us this has been.

Size wise the van is just over half a metre longer, but the same width. It is so much more roomy inside, lovely and light which was a big thing for us. The other major factor was the two beds front and back that raise up to the roof. They are made up with the bedding and just lowered at night when you are ready to go to bed leaving such a large living space during the day with the front and back lounge. So luxurious. The aisle is wide so I can walk to the back and front without getting my husband to move out of the way or visa versa.

The bathroom is top notch. A lovely wash area with toilet, or open the inside door to access a lovely shower which is designed so as not to make the rest of the bathroom area soaking wet. Lots of cupboard space for toiletries and a heated towel rail which is a big plus.

As for the fridge and freezer... absolutely amazing. Large freezer compartment, large fridge space plus a large cooling drawer beneath the fridge for beers, wine, and bulky food stuff. Just love it.

Kitchen area is nicely designed with the electric induction hob (gave me an excuse to buy new cooking utensils) and two gas rings which are useful if we didn’t have EHU. There is central heating and underfloor heating plus air conditioning if needed.

Nice size garage at the back to store bulky equipment and outdoor gear plus another large front locker which can house so many things. The one thing I

found very frustrating with the camper vans, was the clutter inside due to lack of storage space outside so this is a huge bonus. You certainly wouldn’t run out of storage space inside with a nice size wardrobe and plenty of overhead lockers.

So this is the start of a new adventure for us. We have a few local trips planned before heading to France for a month in September and then another Europe trip planned for early Spring in 2024. Just love the campervan life and the freedom and choice that it gives you.

Of course we couldn’t be more grateful to the Marquis staff who have provided a first class service from start to finish, setting us up with our new home.

Nick from Durham who was our initial contact and struck us a good deal at the Motorhome exhibition and to Terry, Graham and Kevin from Marquis in Poole, who have overseen the transition of our old home to our new home. Bill and Wayne in the Service Department who have helped sort out a couple of minor issues and also for having the peace of mind that they are at the end of the phone should we need them at any time.

So friendly, smiley and a pleasure to do business with.

Thank you all again for your time and patience. Cannot recommend enough!
