A BIG WELCOME GOES TO AMANDA!

Amanda started with us on 1st February as our new Sales Executive at Marquis Devon (Plymouth)...

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Amanda who recently joined the friendly Sales Team at Marquis Devon (Plymouth).

Amanda has gained a myriad of customer service and sales experience within other fields before coming to Marquis and is excited to be joining the UK's largest motorhome and caravan dealer network. Her dream is to own a motorhome of her own one day to going touring with her “girls” which are her two beloved Golden Retrievers.

Travelling is in her blood as her first job was as a Stewardess with British Airways. She started on the Shorthaul, European routes out of Gatwick and moved to Longhaul and worldwide routes from Heathrow a few years later. Amanda mainly worked in First Class, either in the Galley cooking all the meals, or as the “A Bird” on the PA announcements and manning the Duty Free Trolley. Many famous personalities crossed her path and Amanda has many interesting tales to tell her colleagues and customers.

Following 13 years with British Airways she qualified and became a Car Driving Instructor, running her own business by day and by night she was back behind the microphone on the airways, but this time as a presenter on local radio in West Sussex.

An opportunity came for her to move to the West Country in 2003 and she made Newton Ferrers, in the South Hams, her home where she was the local Estate Agent. She also joined Radio Plymouth as their presenter on weekday evening shows.

In 2013 she moved into Cornwall where her new job was selling brand new homes at Prince Charles’ Duchy village development of Nansledan, on the outskirts of Newquay. Whilst there she assisted Radio Newquay in advertisement sales.

In March 2020 she returned to Radio Plymouth to become their Radio Sales Executive, but sadly the pandemic put paid to that only three weeks later and Radio Plymouth was later sold.

Finding herself without a job, all of a sudden, she applied to become a Waitrose Delivery Driver, driving the Luton 3.5t vans all over Devon and Cornwall. It was through driving these delivery vans that the idea came that she could, one day drive her own Motorhome and get out travelling again. It was this idea that led Amanda to apply for the Sales Executive job at Marquis.

Be sure to come and visit Marquis Devon (Plymouth branch) and say hi to the newest member of the team. Amanda is looking forward to meeting and assisting customers and getting them out on the road in their dream Motorhome too.
