Motorhome and Caravan News from across UK
First Look: Xplore 586Some budget caravans do a good job of looking more aspirational than their price-tags suggest. Nigel Hutson reports on a six-berth that does it with spec and a spacious layout.
“Buyers are spoilt for choice when it comes to entry-level caravans, and the Xplore range from the Explorer Group (maker of Elddis, Compass and Buccaneer) is right at the core of that market sector. It’s easy to see why, too.”
“With their smart bodies, built using the manufacturer’s SoLiD construction system, and contoured windows, they belie their budget-range status. New for 2016, the six-berth 586 took the gong in the Best Tourer for Large Families category of our 2016 Tourer of the Year Awards.”
According the Nigel Hutson, the judges of Practical Caravan’s Tourer of the Year Awards were “impressed by most aspects of the caravan, from an all-up weight that puts it well within the capabilities of many MPV tow cars, to its fixed bunks and spacious washroom. That’s not forgetting its terrific value.”
“On reflection, was the Xplore 586 a worthy winner in our Tourer of the Year Awards? Yes. It is terrific value, feels spacious and can serve a large family well, for example, with a washroom that fills the facilities gap on a rally field. The Xplore range has an extensive options list, allowing purchasers to upgrade.”
No wonder the magazine rated the Xplore 586 four-and-a-half stars! See below to read the full review from Practical Caravan magazine.
